Raynald Laflamme

Graphic designer+

I have always had a penchant for the visual arts. I'm interested in color, form, contrast, balance between objects, architecture, in fact everything I see around me.

I started silk screening in 1978, having learned the craft at CEGEP. I immersed myself in the graphics and printing world, first working for a small company and then setting up shop for myself. I loved what I was doing, but I decided to pursue my training in graphic communications at Université Laval while continuing to freelance in order to put into practice what I was learning in my design courses.

During this period I worked in publishing, advertising, corporate image, and promotional material design. Then after training in computer graphics in the early 1990s, my first experience in this area, I worked on three fundraising campaigns for the United Way public sector division. I was involved in designing the awareness campaign, doing layout, and coming up with the video concept. It was extremely rewarding to work in this environment with such an experienced team.

From 1993 to 2001, I worked as a computer graphics designer and technician at Astuce Production Infographique. I did design, layout, and publishing work on logos, booths, and technical data sheets for companies like MAAX, Bonneville Windows and Doors, and members of the IT industry like Fédération d’informatique du Québec, DMR, and CGI.

From 2002 to 2006 I was a member of the team at the communications and marketing company Côté Larouche and subsequently at jfLarouche Advertising Agency. Thanks to Jean-François’ confidence in me, I've been able to let my creativity take wing.

Life isn't about chance—it's about opportunity, and knowing how to seize it when it arrives!
